How to select stocks?
I would like to start investing in stocks, but with so many options that do not know exactly where to start. All I know is I'm looking for a moderate yield, nothing crazy. I am also more inclined to do active trading (but perhaps not transactions daily, and do not have enough time). I am not looking though, to keep people for years. Nor do they intend to buy shares of a cent. I do not think blindly following advice, y. Since I still remember the time when so-called "financial adviser" suggested I put most of my money in stocks 401K XYZ Internet. This was in the 90s, and you know the rest of the story. Thank God I resisted at that time, I know that negotiation is not an easy thing, but I want to give it a try (and I'll try to be careful?). Where should I start looking? What is your experience? Thanks
I would suggest you open an account with an online broker like Ameritrade and Scottrade. I suggest you go to your local library and see if they have the Value Line Investment Survey. If they do, a new theme that runs every week. Value Line rates stocks on the basis of opportunity (which are expected to do that over the next year), safety (the risk level of the population) and technology. I use to do my own research on stocks. I found I had to be an investor rather than an operator. The difference for me is that I have no trade value for the day. By investing not so caught up in the daily market and focus on companies that I have in stock or I'm thinking of buying. Works to me
